Drinks on the Town

We will be heading out to Nick's English Hut, an Indiana University institution, for drinks to welcome our guests to town.  Exact details are TBA, so please check back often and have Dave or Holly's numbers at the ready.  We look forward to showing you what a weekend on a Big Ten campus is all about!  (Get ready for a few games of that old Bloomington favorite, Sink the Biz!)

(PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR VENUE HAS CHANGED!  Sadly, Tutto Bene Winecafe, our previously-booked reception venue, has succuumbed to the current economic climate.)

The Lee Norvelle Theatre/Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center was dedicated in honor of the first male and female African American graduates of IU. In addition, the building alsohouses the African American Cultural Center Library, the African American Arts Institute and the Office of Diversity Education.

The Center is conveniently located in the middle of the IU campus (and right next door to Holly's old college home, Delta Gamma!).

PARKING:

Parking is FREE at the Jordan Avenue garage, located conveniently across the street from the Neal-Marshall Center.  Parking is also available at the Indiana Memorial Union, located a short (and picturesque) walk away through campus.

DIRECTIONS:

From the Grant Street Inn:  Proceed east down Seventh Street toward campus.  Go through the stop sign at Seventh and Indiana avenues.  You will see the Sigma Chi house on the left and a meadow in front of the Indiana Memorial Union to the right.  You may either proceed straight on Seventh Avenue to the Indiana Memorial Union parking lot, OR take a LEFT at Woodlawn Avenue, the next stop sign.  Then take a right on Tenth Street.  Go through the light at Fee Lane and take a RIGHT at Jordan Avenue.  You will pass the library on the right.  The Neal-Marshall Center will be on the right, and the Jordan Garage will be on the left, just past the Office of Admissions.

If you choose to park at the IMU, simply walk into campus along Seventh Street.  You'll see the Art Museum on the left and the IU Auditorium straight ahead.  Pass the Auditorium on the left, go down a set of limestone stairs, and the Neal-Marshall Center will be on the left.

From the 45/46 Bypass/Hilton Homewood Suites:  Driving is recommended.  From the bypass, turn right onto Walnut Street.  Take a LEFT at Tenth Street.  Go through the light at Fee Lane and take a RIGHT at Jordan Avenue.  You will pass the library on the right.  The Neal-Marshall Center will be on the right, and the Jordan Garage will be on the left, just past the Office of Admissions. 

From Courtyard by Marriott:  It is about a 20 minute walk to the Neal-Marshall Center from the Marriott.  If you choose to drive, we recommend you turn right out of the Marriott and turn left at Second Street, the next right.  Take an immediate left at Walnut Street and then turn right on Tenth Street.  Go through the light at Fee Lane and take a RIGHT at the second light, Jordan Avenue.  You will pass the library on the right.  The Neal-Marshall Center will be on the right, and the Jordan Garage will be on the left, just past the Office of Admissions.

Reception

Once we've said "I do," we'll run off to take some photographs while our guests enjoy cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and some tunes we've hand-picked! 

Dinner -- set to the sounds of the Indianapolis-based Cool City Swing Band -- will be served at 7:30 p.m. in the Grand Hall.
